Hello,
I would like to announce the Open Eggbert project.
Open Eggbert aims to create:
- Free and open source drop-in replacement reimplementation of Speedy Blupi I/II games released in 1998 and 2001. Licenced under the GPLv3 or later licence. Multiplatform (Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, Web)
Development: Very early stages. A demo already exists. Java programming language used. LibGDX game framework used.
New features are planned (with comparison to the original games)
What is not Open Eggbert: Open Eggbert is not recreation of other Blupi games, it recreates Speedy Blupi/Eggbert games only.
Goals
- To collect all available knowledge related to the games Speedy Blupi/Eggbert
- To create the ultimate specification of Speedy Blupi game.
- To reimplement the original Speedy Blupi game engine
- To reverse engineer the origin Speedy Blupi game engine (EXE or XAP files)
- To create free replacements for game assets (MIDI music, WAV sounds, BMP graphics)
- To specify and implement new features with comparison to Speedy Blupi I/II
