Open Eggbert is open-source and free recreation of Speedy Eggbert computer game.

  • Current status: Very early stages of development.

Open Eggbert is free software with source code available.

  • Someone develops in the last months new recreation of Speedy Eggbert written in the Godot Engine, but its source code is not available

Several compatibility modes are planned. If a compatibility mode is enabled, Open Eggbert behaves almost exactly like the given game version. If compatibility mode is disabled, then all new features, graphics, etc. will be enabled.

How to contribute to Open Eggbert

Contribution of any form is welcome! Please see the list below on how you can contribute to the project. Once you've decided what you would like to do, let us know about it first. This is to make sure that the issue you want hasn't already been implemented or being worked on in newer versions.

  • Improve the Wiki. Me (Robert Vokáč) is now the only moderator. I will be approving the article changes. Any valuable changes are welcomed.
  • Reverse engineer the EXE or XAP files of "Six Legacy Games".
  • Propose new features for Open Eggbert 3
  • Propose your ideas regarding openeggbert.com
  • Contribute in the development of "Open Eggbert". Fork the Github repository, add changes and create merge requests.
  • Proof read the public documentation for errors, ambiguities and typos.
  • Crash test features for bugs.
  • Add missing tests.
  • Create an issue or suggest a feature backed up by a use case.
  • Provide or suggest an implementation of an issue from GitHub Issues.
  • Write a tutorial on how to use Speedy Blupi/Eggbert for Windows or Windows Phone.
